We advise and support energy and water utilities as well as operators of communication networks on strategic, regulatory and business management issues. We draw on our many years of experience in this sector and develop solutions that are tailored to the individual situation and specific needs of our customers.
Our focus:
- Advising and assisting owners of energy and water utilities as well as communication networks in choosing the appropriate organisational structure and legal form (e.g. outsourcing to an independent institution or public limited company) and in developing the ownership strategy.
- Advising and supporting energy and water utilities and operators of communication networks in the development and implementation of corporate and divisional strategies as well as in the regulatory-compliant design of products, tariffs, legal documents (e.g. regulations, general terms and conditions) and accounting (e.g. cost accounting structure).
- Advising and supporting owners and operators of gas networks in the development, evaluation and implementation of gas supply development strategies.
- Expertise in the development of new products and tariff/price systems (e.g. dynamic tariffs, flexible products), in customer segmentation (e.g. using cluster analysis) and in the development, simulation, evaluation and implementation of different models. When adjusting district heating, gas, water or waste disposal tariffs, we offer support in justifying these adjustments to price monitoring bodies.
- Advising and supporting distribution system operators in carrying out the annual regulatory process for determining electricity tariffs. With PowerRep, we offer an Excel-based tool that supports distribution system operators in efficiently preparing information for the Swiss Federal Electricity Commission (ElCom).
- Advising and supporting energy suppliers and large energy consumers in the development and implementation of energy procurement strategies (including tenders for energy procurement).
- Idea generator and sparring partner for cantons, regions and municipalities for envisaged developments in hydropower utilisation, energy supply strategies or energy supply models (including regulatory impact assessments).
- Training for associations and companies on current energy policy issues, energy procurement and the regulation of energy supply.
